Client Intially Charged With 9 Counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct
Mr. Jordan’s client, a 31 year old male, was arraigned on nine charges of criminal sexual conduct. The client was charged with three counts each of first degree, second degree and third degree criminal sexual conduct.
Attorney Jordan Gets 5 of the Charges Dismissed
At the preliminary examination, Mr. Jordan was able to get five of the charges dismissed. His motion to have the bond reduced from $100,000 to $50,000 was also granted and his client was released on a tether.
Mr. Jordan’s client was now charged with three charges of first degree and one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct. The first degree charges arose from allegedly engaging in sexual penetration where the accused was 17 years or older and the victim was 13 years or younger. The punishment is imprisonment for life or any term of years, but not less than 25 years. The second degree charges arose from allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a person under thirteen. The punishment is imprisonment for not more than 15 years. Both first and second degree charges result in a sentence that requires the defendant to lifetime electronic monitoring.
Closing Arguments and Verdict
Mr. Jordan fought the case at trial. Closing arguments were heard on the third day of the trial. The jury returned a NOT GUILTY verdict on the same day that closing arguments were heard.
Fingerprints and arrest records were returned to Mr. Jordan's client.
